April Activities
-Excel Activity: TIMED EVENT! Play Math baseball and record your score on an excel spreadhseet. Teachers - have students open up an Excel spreedsheet and type a title (Math Baseball) and their name, have them create a column for Innings, and a column for Runs.
Then have them minimize their document and open up Math Baseball http://www.funbrain.com/math/, choose the level and skill you want them to practice (you might need scratch paper for older students) Time each inning 1 min, 5 min... your choice. After each inning, have them record how many runs they scored. If they got out before the
time runs out, have them sit quietly til time is up.
-After a few innings have them made a bar graph of their progress. (Highlight just the Runs column, then click on Insert- Columns)
-Research Activity: How are baseballs made? Research and report your findings in a shape book: Ball, Bat, Glove, or Diamond Print out and write your findings in your shape book.
